What is coffee cupping?
A coffee cupping session is a fun and interactive experience for coffee lovers to enjoy together, whether you’re a seasoned espresso drinker or just curious to learn more about what’s in your cup. It’s a guided tasting where different coffees are explored side by side, focusing on aroma, flavour, acidity, body and finish. You’ll smell freshly ground coffee, break the surface of the brew, and taste each coffee by slurping – the best way to experience its full character. It’s a relaxed, social way to discover new flavours, share opinions and see coffee in a whole new light.

How to Cup?
Cupping is a hands-on, sensory way to taste and explore coffee – and it’s as much about the experience as it is about the flavours. Using just coffee and water in small cups, you’ll smell, sip and savour each brew, noticing everything from sweetness and acidity to body and finish. The process is carefully structured so every coffee is tasted on a level playing field, and you’ll follow simple steps like breaking the crust of the grounds, inhaling the aroma, and slurping from a special cupping spoon to really experience all the flavours. Along the way, you can jot down your thoughts and see how your impressions match up with others – it’s a fun, social way to discover new coffees and learn about their unique stories.

Our First Cupping Session – Oxford
Teaming up with Extract Coffee, we’re excited to host our very first coffee cupping event at KNEAD Oxford on Wednesday 25th February, 5pm – 7pm.
Once the doors close to the public, our bakery will transform into a relaxed, after-hours space where coffee lovers can slow down, sip and savour.
During the evening, you’ll experience the art of coffee cupping, guided through a curated selection of single-origin coffees from around the world. Discover the unique flavours, aromas and stories behind each cup, with every coffee paired with a thoughtfully designed food menu created to complement and elevate the tasting experience.
Expect great coffee, good conversation and a warm, informal atmosphere – with a little indulgence too, as Espresso Martinis will be available on the night. Whether you’re a true coffee enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable evening out with friends, this is a chance to experience KNEAD in a whole new way.
